May Ipsy Glam Bag 2015 | Jetsetter

We've come to another month of Ipsy Glam Bag review. I'm so sorry this took so long to be reviewed but I'm definitely struggling trying to get film it, blog it and thinking about university at the same time. Without further ado, we're going straight to it. This month's theme is Jetsetter!

Alterna Haircare's Caviar CC Cream

This product boast a 10-in-1 benefit to the hair. While I can't say for sure if it really does benefit in 10 ways, my personal experience with this hair cream corrector was splendid. Compared to hair oils, this acts like a hair conditioner, leaving no oil residue to your palm or your hair but only a sweet scent on the hair and it detangles hair almost immediately. My hair remained soft and manageable throughout the whole day.

All you need to do is apply it on your hair like how you would with hair oils.

While this sample size is only 0.85 oz, the original product is a 2.5 oz tube at the price of $25.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil + Revolution High Color Lipgloss

This glide on lip pencil works like how a lip liner does. Glide it on all over your lip to ensure long lasting colours when you apply lip gloss or lip stick. As you can see, I have used quite a few times but it uses up quite a lot of the product in one application itself. It runs out extremely fast. This sample size is only 0.8g. The glide on lip pencil comes in several shades of colour but this clear shade  (Ozone) is perfect if you don't own lip liners or too fussy to buy it in other shades.

There is also a tendency to apply more than needed since you don't actually feel it on your lips or any colour until you smack your lips together. Then, you'll notice that it has a glue like texture which I suppose that's what help colours to last longer on the lips.

Also as a bonus, Ipsy + Urban Decay provided us with this High Colour Lip Gloss which I got quite excited about because I've always wanted to try bold lip colours like purple. I tried it and I instantly fell in love with that colour.

Bittersweet

However, as you can see, the opacity is rather light since it is a lip gloss. I would say the texture is an in between of a lip gloss and a lip stick. You can build up the colours by layering a couple of times and let it dry to fully stay on your lips. Definitely not as intense of a colour you'd expect, judging from the picture of the packaging. Nope.

Failbait

And this is the shade of Failbait which I'm not that fond of because it's really similar to my lip colour. It does make my lips a little more pink but that's about it, nothing drastic or fancy.

Overall, the lipgloss dries along with the glide on lip pencil to a sticky texture as a lipgloss normally would but it does not dry out my lips throughout the day.

The lipgloss cost $22 a bottle whereas the lip pencil cost $20 at 12g.

Bellapierre's Waterproof Gel Eye Liner

This gel liner is as it says; waterproof. Unlike most liners that say they are waterproof but turns out not, this liner wouldn't even budge a little when I tried rubbing it off. Even when I tried using a cleanser to wash it off, only some of it were removed. The colour is an intense black (in the shade of Ebony) with matte texture. Glides on really smoothly without much effort.

One downside though is that with a pencil liner like this, I find it quite difficult to obtain a nice winged-out line on my eye especially when the tip of the pencil gets blunt as you use it. Sometimes, when you put too much pressure, it breaks off at the end as well. So, be cautious.

This was a full-sized product at 0.06 fl oz at the price of $14.99

Peter Lamas' Detoxifying Citrus C Facial Cleanser

The facial cleanser helps lock-in moisture and strengthens the skin whilst leaving softer & younger-looking skin. Upon trying it, the cleanser comes out an orange thin liquid which lathers up only a little. It does not leave much residue like a cream cleanser would but not too drying that it becomes a squeaky feeling. It does wash off light make up but not heavy makeup nor waterproof makeups.

Overall, just a decent mild facial cleanser & have received many good reviews from people with sensitive skin or suffering from acne problems. There isn't a heavy scent that most cleanser have which makes me feel good that there isn't a ton of unnecessary fragrance or chemicals added into it.

This product cost $24 at full size.

Pixi by Petra's Beauty Bronzer

After receiving this brand of product from previous Ipsy bag, I have a very good impression and expectation from Pixi by Petra. A good brand of makeup at an affordable price. Since bronzer is one of my staple everyday makeup, I was delighted to have received this in my Ipsy bag!

I received this in the shade of Summertime, a deep tan bronze. It has a copper undertone on my skin which is alright for my skintone. However, a slight mistake would turn out to be a disaster.

This bronzer however, has a slight glitter to it. So little that it can be overlooked but I definitely prefer my bronzers to be matte. I am still very happy that I received this bronzer.

The original product is priced only at £18.00 and it comes with a kabuki brush!

Kickboxing at Kombat Sanda

So today is officially the end of my 'Summer' break; 3 months of holiday but classes starts tomorrow. I've recently started kickboxing as my fitness routine and I decided to pick it up because I've always wanted to since way back in 2010. During those days, I only had less than a handful of friends that were interested in kickboxing & the place that they went were always far away from my home. The price was also not affordable for me as I was (still am) a mere student.

Although this gym has been operating for a little more than 3 years, I only discovered about this place 6 months back through a friend of mine. It is about 20 minutes drive away from my house and the BEST thing about it is the fee.

It costs only RM 50 A MONTH and you're free to go 3 times a week!
Monday & Friday being the beginner's class,
Wednesday ala Gordon Ramsay. (jokes, but really though).
8.30pm - 10.30pm

The friend of mine

The place isn't really big especially on a Monday since most people attend the beginner's class for tryouts. On Wednesday though, this place is just nice for the amount of people to tire themselves out. (Trust me, you don't want the place to be spacious if you're new. You might just play dead.)

Another worthy note to point out is that the gym provides a 1-month FREE trial and then, you decide if you still want to continue the classes. So, don't worry too much about giving it a try! The only downside I would say, is the location of the centre as the area is quite dark and quiet. Although it's located beside a 99mart and facing a busy road, it's blocked by trees and street lights are rather dim.

Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control

I managed to get myself a sample of Laneige's BB Cushion Pore Control last week by playing a game on their FB page and I am absolutely in love with it.

In general, I don't wear any foundation or powder on my face, not because I'm overly confident about my complexion but I extremely dislike the creamy feeling on my face. Also, I'm always paranoid that everyone could see the cakey texture on my face because I could see it myself. If at all there is an event or the occasion calls for extra coverage, I'd at most apply BB cream on my face. So, you can imagine how excited I am to be receiving a free sample of BB cream.

What I didn't expect was how much I'd love it.
I won't be laying down the benefits of the BB Cushion because it's readily available on their website and Facebook page. In summary, there are 6 benefits in 1 touch. More information here: Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control

Sample size

As you can see the benefits written at the back. What attracts me the most is that it's water resistant which means sweat and rain wouldn't shift the product on the face & cause a melting mess.

It's in liquid form when you press onto the sponge which prevents excessive application on the face.

The sponge is quite different but it works by dabbing onto the face and never by spreading throughout the face.

Let me now, show you the magic.

Before application

Half face application. As you can see, the two acne scars on the right side of the face are lightly concealed.

What I'm about to show you now, is my ugly pore close-up but how much difference there is with the BB Cushion. Using a macro lens, I managed to focus nearer to my face & show you ... my pores. Sigh, although my pores are not severe, it is afterall my face & I have the tendency to look at it quite close. I've always wondered if other people notice it.

Before application.

After application.

It covers my pores so naturally that it looks almost like my natural skin. It also evens out my skin tone and reduce the redness on my face. I am astonished at how light it feels on the skin as well. Upon dabbing it, there is a cooling effect on the skin which makes it refreshing and the process much more satisfying.

Full face application. Cakey no more!
The original product is priced at RM159 but if I'm not mistaken, it does come with a refill pack so its RM159 for 2. I do feel however, that I was given a slightly darker shade by the salesperson but luckily it's just a sample.

Verdict: I highly recommend Laneige's BB Cushion Pore Control for a natural face coverage! Yes, I am definitely over-zealous over this product, it's just so goooood!
